An untruth.
2) Ý muốn người khác hiểu sai
lạc sự thật: Deceiving intention.
3) Thốt ra lời giả dối:
Utterance.
4) Tạo sự hiểu biết sai lạc
cho người khác: Actual deception.

có những hậu quả không tránh khỏi của sự nói dối—According to The Buddha and
His Teachings, written by Most Venerable Narada, there are some inevitable

1) Bị mắng chưởi nhục mạ:

chia rẽ—To slander means to twist stories.
(B) Theo Đức Phật và Phật Pháp của Hòa Thượng Narada,
có bốn điều kiện cần thiết để thành lập nghiệp nói lời đâm thọc—According to
The Buddha and His Teachings, written by Most Venerable Narada, there are four
conditions that are necessary to complete the evil of slandering:
1) Những người là nạn nhân của
sự chia rẽ: Persons that are to be divided.
2) Ý muốn phân ly những người
ấy hay ý muốn lấy lòng một người: The intention to separate them or the desire
to endear oneself to another.
3) Cố gắng để thực hiện sự
phân ly: Corresponding effort.
4) Thốt ra lời nói đâm thọc:
The communication.
(C) Theo Đức Phật và Phật Pháp của Hòa Thượng Narada,
đây hậu quả không tránh khỏi của sự nói lời đâm thọc—According to The Buddha
and His Teachings, there is one inevitable consequences of slandering: Bị chia
rẽ với bạn bè—The dissolution of friendship without any sufficient cause.

The inclination towards frivolous talk.
2) Thốt ra lời nói nhảm nhí vô
ích: Its narration.
(B) Theo Đức Phật và Phật Pháp của Hòa Thượng Narada,
đây là những hậu quả không tránh khỏi của việc nói lời nhảm nhí—According to
The Buddha and His Teachings, written by Most Venerable Narada, these are the inevitable
consequences of frivolous talk:
1) Các bộ phận trong cơ thể bị
khuyết tật: Defective bodily organs.
2) Lời nói không minh bạch rõ
ràng (làm cho người ta nghi ngờ): Incredible speech.

1) Một người khác để cho ta
nói lời thô lỗ: A person to be abused.
2) Tư tưởng sân hận: Angry
thought.
3) Thốt ra lời thô lỗ: The
actual abuse.
(B) Theo Đức Phật và Phật Pháp của Hòa Thượng Narada,
đây là những hậu quả không tránh khỏi của sự nói lời thô lỗ cộc cằn—According
to The Buddha and His Teachings, written by Most Venerable Narada, these are
inevitable consequences of harsh speech:
1) Không làm gì hại ai cũng bị
họ ghét bỏ: Being detested by others though absolutely harmless.
2) Tiếng nói khàn khàn, chứ
không trong trẻo: Having a harsh voice.

Sutra:
1. Chẳng phải cậy nhiều lời mà
cho là người có trí, nhưng an tịnh không cừu oán, không sợ hãi mới là người có
trí—A man is not called a learned man because he talks much. He who is
peaceful, without hatred and fearless, is called learned and wise (Dharmapada
258).
2. Chẳng phải cậy nhiều lời mà
cho là người hộ trì Chánh pháp, nhưng tuy ít học mà do thân thực thấy Chánh
pháp, không buông lung, mới là người hộ trì Chánh pháp—A man is not called a
guardian of the Dharma because he talks much. He who hears little and sees
Dharma mentally, acts the Dharma well, and does not neglect the Dharma,
is indeed, a follower in the Dharma (Dharmapada 259).
