Sơn Thiền Sư: Zen Master Y Sơn (?-1213)—Thiền sư
Việt Nam, quê ở Nghệ An, Bắc Trung Việt. Lúc 30 tuổi, ngài xuất gia với một vị
sư già trong làng. Sau đó, ngài đến Thăng Long học thiền với Quốc Sư Viên
Thông. Sau khi trở thành pháp tử đời thứ 19 dòng Thiền Tỳ Ni Đa Lưu Chi, ngài
trụ tại chùa Đại Bi. Lúc cao tuổi, ngài dời về làng Yên Lãng để tiếp tục hoằng
hóa Phật giáo cho đến khi ngài thị tịch vào năm 1213—A Vietnamese Zen
master from Nghệ An, North of Central Vietnam. At the age of thirty, he left
home and became a disciple of an old monk in the village. Later, he arrived at
Thăng Long to study Zen with the National Teacher Viên Thông. After he beame
the dharma heir of the nineteenth generation of Vinitaruci Zen Sect, he stayed
at Đại Bi Temple. When he was old, he moved to Yên Lãng village to preach
Dharma until he passed away in 1213.

mouth, karma of the mind is difficult to establish, thought has just risen
within the mind but has not take appearance, or become action; therefore,
transgressions have not formed.

(skt)—Consciousness—Knowing or thought faculty—Một trong sáu thức, ý thức không
tùy thuộc vào bất cứ căn nào, nhưng lệ thuộc vào sự liên tục của tâm. Ý thức
chẳng những nhận biết cả sáu đối tượng gồm sắc, thanh, hương, vị, xúc và các
hiện tượng trong quá khứ, hiện tại và ngay cả vị lai. Ý thức sẽ cùng ta lữ hành
từ kiếp nầy qua kiếp khác, trong khi năm thức trước chỉ là những tâm tạm thời.
Ý thức còn là một trong năm uẩn—Awareness—Consciousness—The faculty of
mind—Mental consciousness—Discrimination and comprehension
consciousness—Consciousness of mind or thought—One of the six vijnanas, a mind
which does not depend on any of the five sense faculties, but on the
immediately preceding continuum of mind. Mental consciousness apprehends not
only objects (form, sound, taste, smell, touch) in the present time, but it
also apprehends objects in the past and imagines objects even in the
future—Mental consciousness will go with us from one life to another, while the
first five consciousnesses are our temporary minds. Consciousness
