the monastery clean. In Winter when the farming work stops, they accept food

tác, ngay cả vị Thiền Sư. Thường thì các Thiền viện đều có đất riêng, đủ để tự
lực cánh sinh, qua việc trồng trọt của các Thiền Tăng. Những thứ cần dùng
nhưng không gặt hái qua trồng trọt thì Thiền viện nhận cúng dường từ các Thiền
sinh tại gia. Dù bận làm vườn, trồng trọt và đốn củi, các Thiền Tăng luôn giữ
cho Thiền viện được sạch sẽ. Vào mùa đông khi không còn công việc đồng áng thì
họ nhận thực phẩm cúng dường của người tại gia. Ngoài những công việc này, hàng
ngày Thiền Tăng còn phải thực hành Thiền với một chương trình cố định.

(A) The Buddha’s Knowledge—Trí Phật:
1) His knowledge entered into all times
with complete equanimity: Trí Phật chứng nhập thời gian ba đời đều bình đẳng.
2) His knowledge entered into all forms
and realized the emptiness of things: Trí Phật vào tất cả tướng mà rõ thấu các
pháp đều không tịch.
(B) The Buddha’s Body—Thân Phật:
1) His body filled all worlds: Thân
Phật đầy khắp thế gian.
2) His body forever sat omnipresent in
all sites of enlightenment: Thân Phật thường ngồi khắp trong tất cả đạo tràng
của chúng Bồ Tát.
3) His body extended throughout the ten
directions, yet without coming or going: Thân Phật trải khắp mười phương mà
không có tướng qua lại.
4) His awesome light shone clearly,
like the sun emerging, illuminating the world: Oai quang nơi thân Phật chói rỡ
như mặt trới mọc lên soi sáng thế giới.
(C) The Buddha’s Voice—Tiếng Phật:
1) His voice universally accorded with
all lands in the ten directions: Tiếng Phật thuận khắp cõi nước mười phương.
2) Like space, which contains all forms
without any discrimination, he made no discrimination among all objects: Như hư
không bao gồm các sắc tướng mà không phân biệt, Đức Thế Tôn cũng không một lời
phân biệt đối với các cảnh giới.
3) As space extended everywhere, his
voice entered all lands with equanimity: Lại như hư không trải khắp cùng tất
cả, tiếng Như Lai bình đẳng vào trong tất cả quốc độ.
4) He expounded all truths, like
spreading great clouds: Ngài diễn thuyết tất cả pháp như giăng bủa mây
lớn.
(D) The Buddha’s Virtues—Phước đức Phật:
1) The ocean of myriad virtues which he
practiced in all times was thoroughly pure: Phước đức Phật rộng lớn như biển
cả, đều đã thanh tịnh.
2) Though he constantly demonstrated
the production of all the Buddha-lands: Dầu vậy Ngài vẫn thường thị hiện sanh
vào quốc độ chư Phật.
3) With boundless forms and spheres of
light extending throughout the entire cosmos, equally and impartially: Với vô
biên sắc tướng, đầy đủ ánh sáng, cùng khắp pháp giới, bình đẳng không sai khác.
(E) The Buddha’s Spiritual Powers—Thần thông Phật:
1) Each of his hairtips was able to
contain all worlds without interference, in each manifesting immeasurable
spiritual powers, teaching and civilizing all sentient beings: Mỗi đầu lông đều
có thể dung thọ tất cả thế giới mà vẫn không chướng ngại, đều hiện vô lượng
thần thông giáo hóa và điều phục tất cả chúng sanh.
2) All miraculous displays of the Buddhas
of past, present and future, were all seen in his light, and all the adornments
of inconceivable eons were revealed: Tất cả thần biến của chư Phật ba đời đều
thấy tất cả trong quang minh. Tất cả sự trang nghiêm của tất cả Phật độ trong
vô lượng kiếp đều làm cho hiển hiện.
(F) Other characteristics of the Buddha—Những đức tánh khác của
Đức Thế Tôn:
1) The Buddhas were born from the ocean
of roots of goodness: Chư Như Lai sanh ra từ biển căn lành.
2) They had already fulfilled the various
means of transcendence: Chư Như Lai đã đủ đầy các môn Ba La Mật.
3) Their wisdom eye was thoroughly
clear and they were able to observe all times with impartiality: Huệ nhãn sáng
suốt và các Ngài có thể thấy suốt ba đời.
4) They were thoroughly purified in all
states of concentration: Nơi các môn tam muội đều đầy đủ thanh tịnh.
5) Their eloquence was oceanic,
extensive and inexhaustible: Biện tài của các Ngài rộng lớn vô tận như biển.
6) They possessed the qualities of
Buddhahood, were dignified and honorable: Đủ công đức Phật tôn nghiêm đáng
kính.
7) They knew the faculties of sentient
beings, and taught them according to potential and necessity: Các Ngài biết rõ
căn tánh chúng sanh, nên luôn thuận theo giáo hóa điều phục.
8) They entered into the matrix of the
cosmos, their knowledge was nondiscriminatory: Các Ngài đi vào tạng pháp
giới, trí vô phân biệt.
9) They experienced the liberation of
the Buddhas, exceedingly deep and immensely vast: Các Ngài chứng giải thoát của
chư Phật rất sâu rộng.
10) They were able to enter into one stage, according to
technical expediency, yet maintain the virtues of all stages, supported by the
ocean of all vows, always accompanied by wisdom, throughout the future: Tùy
phương tiện, vào nơi một bậc mà dùng tất cả hạnh nguyện, thường đi chung với
trí huệ cùng tận thuở vị lai.
11) They had thoroughly comprehended the rarely-attained, vast
secret realm of all Buddhas: Thấu rõ cảnh giới bí mật rộng lớn của chư Phật.
12) They were familiar with the equal teachings of all Buddhas:
Khéo biết tất cả pháp bình đẳng của chư Phật.
13) They were already treading the Buddhas’ ground of universal
light: Đã đi trên bậc Phổ Quang Minh của Như Lai.
14) They entered the door of boundless oceans of concentration:
Nhập nơi vô lượng tam muội.
15) They manifested bodies in all places and participated in
worldly activities: Tùy loại hiện thân khắp tất cả chỗ và đồng sự với thế gian
mà thực hành thế pháp.
16) Their memory was enormous, and they assmebled the ocean of
all the teachings: Tổng trì rộng lớn và chứa nhóm tất cả pháp.
17) With intelligence, eloquence and skill they turned the wheel
which never turns back: Với trí thông minh, biện tài và thiện xảo, quý Ngài
luôn chuyển pháp luân bất thối.
18) The vast ocean of virtuous qualities of all Buddhas entered
entirely into their bodies: Biển công đức quảng đại đều vào nơi thân của các
Ngài.
19) They went willingly to all the lands in which there were Buddhas:
Các Ngài đều phát nguyện đi đến quốc độ của chư Phật.
20) They had already made offerings to all Buddhas, over
boundless eons, joyfully and tirelessly: Đã từng cúng dường tất cả chư Phật
trải qua vô biên số kiếp luôn hoan hỷ không nhàm mỏi.
21) In all places when the Buddhas attained enlightenment, they
were always there, approaching them and associating with them, never giving up:
Thường đến các chỗ chư Phật chứng đạo Bồ Đề, các Ngài thường gần gủi không rời.
22) By means of the vows of Universal Goodness and wisdom, they
always caused the wisdom-body of all sentient beings to be fulfilled: Thường
đem thệ nguyện Phổ Hiền đã được, làm cho trí thân của tất cả chúng sanh đều đầy
đủ.

không còn gì nữa, vì vậy mà người theo chủ nghĩa nầy phủ nhận ý nghĩa của thiện
nghiệp.
2) The acausality view
(ahetuka-ditthi), which states that there is no cause or condition for the
defilement and purification of beings, that beings are defiled and purified by
chance, fate, or necessity: Chủ nghĩa phủ nhận nhân duyên thì cho rằng mọi
chuyện phát sanh nhiễm ô hay thanh tịnh đều không có nguyên nhân, chúng sanh
nhiễm ô hay thanh tịnh bởi tình cờ hay định mệnh.
3) The inefficacy of action view
(akiriya-ditthi), which claims that deeds have no efficacy in producing results
and thus invalidates moral distinctions: Chủ nghĩa phủ nhận hậu quả thì lại cho
rằng hành động dù tốt dù xấu cũng đều không tạo quả.
